Last night the Hotties and I did a painting party at Canvas By U. We painted a cherry blossom tree. They have a class from 7-10pm where they provide the paint, brushes, canvas, etc, and a 3 hours lesson on how to paint a certain painting. You can bring wine, snacks etc and just have fun with your girlfriends. We were celebrating my upcoming birthday and It was nice to do something different!

15 Weeks
How your baby's growing:
Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple or navel orange). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds.Saturday, April 7, 2012
14 Weeks!
How your baby's growing:
This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb. In other news: Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, he measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. His body's growing faster than his head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, his arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of his body. (His legs still have some lengthening to do.) He's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over his body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and his spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel his tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.

The Masters
This week as all of you sports/golf fans know, is Masters week here in Augusta Georgia. Last year during the Masters I entered a lottery for tickets. I won (the chance to purchase) 4 tickets to the practice round on Wednesday. This is one of the best days to go. You are able to bring cameras in (score for me) and Wednesday is when they hold the Par 3 contest. Players let loose a little bit and have fun during the Par 3. They let their kids putt or maybe let their Caddy tee off. We got into Augusta National just in time to make it over to #9 on the Par 3 Course. We had our armless folding chairs ready to go. As soon as they opened the ropes it was like thousands of ants swarming to try to get the best area to put their chair. Once you set down your chair your spot is claimed. No one moves your chair all day.
We went and walked the back 9 and saw some of the famous sites. We started on 18 and got to see Tiger Woods.
We then walked all the way to the tee box on 18. Its about 456 yards to the hole and a very narrow fairway.
We hit up a few concessions on the way through the back 9. All of the food was pretty inexpensive. Sandwiches were 2.50, bottled water was 1.50. Everything was "masters" something, Masters Cookies, Masters Chips, etc.

We checked out #16 where the players (during the practice rounds) walk to the edge of the water and try to skip the ball (like skipping rocks) so that the ball glides over the water (with a few splashes) and right into the cup. No one made it but it was fun to see them try. The crowd would chant skip it, skip it, when the pair came up.
We got to see Amen Corner... however of the 30+ azaleas that run along the backside of the hole not 1 was in bloom.... stupid global warming... I will say I was disappointed with the lack of color that usually is scene at Augusta National during Masters week.
Here is what the hole looks like normally...

Boy or Girl?
The first thing most people ask me is are you going to find out the gender?!?!??! (Yes we are, May 4th)
People are so excited to know if its a boy or a girl, I wonder how people stay sane waiting till the birth to find out. The control freak/planner in me is anxious to start buying boy clothes or girl clothes. Our nursery right now is pretty neutral so we will be adding all those finishing touches to make it more boy or girl friendly.
There are lots of old wives tales to help predict the gender. Dutch and I have the gut feeling its a Girl, but almost everyone around us has either just had a girl or is pregnant with a girl. I also spent most of my life figuring I would have all boys since both sides of my family are heavily weighed on the boy side. Ends up, gender comes from the fathers side. Since Dutch is adopted there isn't much insight there.
Also, The heartbeat is above 140 which signifies a girl...
I haven't done any other "tests" that involved draino or baking soda.... lol

Let the nesting begin....
I spent the weekend consolidating my closets down to one, folding all my winter clothes, and storing things that don't/won't fit.... Thank goodness for flowy spring summer dresses or id have nothing to wear!

How your baby's growing: She's about 2.9 inches long and weighs about .81 ounces, Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. she's forming vocal cords and teeth and Her intestines are moving from the umbilical cord to their more permanent place, in her tummy.
