Going Strong

3 years ago today, I said I do to my amazing husband. He is truly my other half. Even though we have already been through a lot in the last three years, we are at such a great place now. We are so blessed with having jobs, a supportive family, our health, a home we created together, and a strong marriage. We are both so excited that we are now to the chapter of starting our family. We cant wait to meet you baby Harper  and have you join in the fun, laughter, and joy that is our family.

Dutch, I love you, you are my one. I know you will be a great daddy to our baby girl!

We're registered!

Whew, what a long but fun day doing our baby registry. I asked my Mom to go with me as even though Dutch was more than willing, I knew it was going to be a multi-hour event that might get a little overwhelming for a to be Dad. I also know comparing burp cloth patterns aren't really ground breaking couple decisions. So my Mom and I headed out Saturday at 1030am... by 145 we about fell over when we saw it had already taken us 3 hours to get through the store. Thankfully, we were finishing up. Boy did my feet hurt. If it wasn't for me being a nanny for Ravi, I would have been clueless and overwhelmed. Thankfully I already knew the difference between a bumper, boppy, and bumpo. : )

We registered at BabiesRUs and Amazon. Babies R Us has pretty much everything we need, however, amazon is great for those online shoppers as you usually can get a better deal on amazon than buying it at BRU.  This really applies to the bigger ticket items like the car seat, stroller base, pack n play, high chair, monitor, etc. where saving $15-$50 is worth it. We will just monitor the registry and take off the items that are bought on amazon or those bought at BRU.

Regardless.... Please keep/send/include your gift receipt just in case we get duplicates.

Shower plans are underway for the month of August but for now, if your that interested you can check out our registries online now...

Babies R Us  Registry ID - 48468120 (They might still have us under 2 registries, they have to delete the other one. Just look for the registry ID #. The correct registry has like 115+ items, the wrong one has like 30)

22 weeks

At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. Her lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and shes even developing tiny tooth buds beneath her gums. Her eyes have formed, but her irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers her body and the deep wrinkles on her skin, which she'll sport until she adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside her belly, her pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

Nursery color scheme

The nursery has been so fun to design. I really wanted to create a creative, organized, contemporary, inspiring space. Not just a cookie cutter pastel space. (Which is perfect for a lot of people, the designer in me just had to take it further)

Since babies see contrast best in the beginning and pattern helps stimulate brain activity I wanted to focus on lots of little details.

We still have a long way to go before the reveal but for now ill leave a little teaser...

Our color scheme is pinks, aqua, white, and gray. Walls are a dark gray with all the furniture/trim being white. (No it doesn't look like a jail or a dungeon) its very crisp and fresh (in my opinion) : )

I have lots of diy projects in progress that I can't wait to blog about. A hand painted Stencil, a butterfly mobile with over 200 paper butterflies, an upholstered cornice above her window, artwork, etc.

For now, here's a glimpse of the colors (plus gray)

Glamour Shots

I had what will most likely be my last ultrasound this pregnancy. She isnt much of a morning person and wouldnt stop crossing her hands over her face but we did get a few good shots. Enjoy!

I just love this one. She is so precious! You can see her hand in a fist over her left eye. You can make out her little nose and lips!
