03.06.12

Welcome everyone to our Meet the Morgans Blog. Now that we have so many exciting things to share, I will be trying to update this blog weekly. Ill include ultrasound photos, the design of the nursery as it is evolving, millstones, etc.

Currently we are spreading the news to our family and close friends. I don't know how people wait 12+ weeks to tell anyone! That's 3 months of being sick, blowing off plans, not drinking when out with friends, being exhausted etc. Thankfully, I have been only mildly sick (at least compared to some of my gf who in the past couldn't eat a single thing without being sick) To my surprise, pregnancy/morning sickness can be lots of different things for different people. Ive been feeling nauseous most of the day and never physically getting sick. Being STARVING (so starving your nauseous) to being STUFFED (so stuffed your nauseous) to being hungry but having zero appetite for anything. It gets frustrating on the weekends when Dutch and I want to cook or go out to eat. If I didn't have to eat I wouldn't since most things just sound gross. Luckily, most days I can eat small meals throughout the day and manage my hunger/stuffedness and get through the day ok. Bedtime is 930-10pm.... and I try to get in a good 2 hour nap on the weekends.... Sounds like the life huh? HA! I'm just looking forward to the 2nd trimester when I can get some energy back, can enjoy eating, and the bliss of pregnancy... We'll see how that goes .

Shout out to my prego-buddies - Laura, Sarah, and my cousin Jenn. Its nice to have a support system during this new and exciting time.

9 Weeks

How your baby's growing:

Your new resident is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain.

Then their duet will become a trio....

Dutch and I are happy to announce the newest addition to the Morgan family. Baby Morgan is expexted October 6th 2012!

LANA DEL REY-VIDEO GAMES

Anybody see the performance on SNL last Saturday…. An artist named Lana del ray… She has such an interesting voice. A LOT of people are coming out saying how boring and awful she is. I kind of like seeing someone with a unique voice and not a pop singer on auto tune….. just sharing... Ive also been on a Florance and the Machine kit lately so thats probably why I like this. Enjoy!

Eight Fears

Eight Fears
1. Our house burning down while we are away on vacation. Always breath a sigh of relief when we turn the corner and everything looks fine. lol.
2. Flying. Part a control issue, part a fear of heights/falling.
3. Losing my husband to a sickness/accident.
4. Taylor/Dallas running away, or getting hit by a car.
5. Burglar hiding in my shower. lol, I always check behind the shower curtain when I go in our bathroom.
6. Having a child with a major illness such as cancer.
7. Dutch or I losing our jobs and going back into the  "Morgan Recession"
8. Snakes. Enough said.

NYC Part I

Whew.....

What a whirlwind trip to NYC this past weekend.

I flew out Friday afternoon landing in NYC at 3pm. Alicia's aunt picked me up and dropped Alicia and I at the subway stop in Queens. We then were able to ride all the way into the city and to Alicia's stop. I knew having a suitcase on the subway would not be that much fun but failed to realize that subways are underground.... duh and sometimes 3-4 flights of stairs until you reach the train platform...  yikes... and you don't really want to touch the railings ...haha.

We got into Alicias apt (a 4th floor walk up) and were able to relax. Her apt. is awesome. She even has a skylight in her room and a spiral stair case. We went out to dinner that night just a few blocks away at Il Bagatto. We drank champagne over candlelight, enjoyed fresh pasta and chocolate mousse cake... yummo. Definitely hit the spot after a long day of traveling.
That night we grabbed some bottles of wine from a market down the street and stayed up to late catching up and laughing. Basically #1 requirement for this trip.... lol.... and it was just like the good times we've had at the "Best Bar in Town" east cobb location.....

Check back for Part II - Saturday
